2023 – Bicester area man jailed for rape of sleeping woman

A 22-year-old man from near Bicester has been jailed after being found guilty of raping a teenage girl while she slept.

Jarrett Good, of Murcott Road, Upper Arncott, denied the offence, which took place in the early hours of December 29, 2019.

However, following a trial at Oxford Crown Court, jurors found him guilty of a single count of rape.

Judge Michael Gledhill KC sentenced Good to 42 months in prison — three-and-a-half years — on Thursday, July 6.

The court heard the victim had been asleep at the time of the attack.

Welcoming the sentence, DC Sam Hunter of Thames Valley Police said: “I would like to commend the bravery of the victim in coming forward, as well as the investigation which was carried out. Good has been brought to justice for his crime.”

Good, of Murcott Road, Upper Arncott, will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
