WAYNE SMITH – RHYL, WALES

Wayne Mark Smith, 44, of Rhyl, North Wales, was charged with common assault and stalking.

He was found not guilty of common assault, but guilty of stalking.

Following the guilty verdict, he was sentenced on 18 February 2026 at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court.

Sentence:
• 26 weeks imprisonment, suspended for 24 months
• 20 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement
• 180 hours unpaid work (to be completed within 12 months)
• £400 court costs

Restraining Order (in place until 17 February 2032):

The court imposed a restraining order prohibiting him from:
• Contacting the victim directly or indirectly, including via social media
• Approaching or entering any property occupied by her
• Entering Rhydwen Drive or Rhydwen Close
• Entering the playing fields adjoining Rhydwen Drive and Rhydwen Close

Any breach of this order is a criminal offence and can result in imprisonment.
