A woman beater has been jailed after he violently attacked a woman who was 6-months pregnant
Steven Farren, 34, of Westmorland Street, Carlisle was sentenced to three years at Carlisle Crown Court after he was convicted of actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation.
Farren pleaded guilty to the offences.
The court heard that in November 2025 Farren assaulted a pregnant woman several times slapping her, throwing punches and hitting her in the stomach causing to fear for her life.
He further made threats to kill the woman — whose injuries included bruising — and hurting her unborn child
The next morning Farren strangled the women on the sofa restricting her breathing leaving the woman again fearing for her life. She managed to escape the address where a friend called the police.
When officers attended the address Farren was aggressive towards the police officers and threatened to use his dog against them.
