Lincoln Attack – Ex-Partner Left With Broken Back

Incident: October 2018
Court: Lincoln Crown Court
Sentence: 15 months’ imprisonment suspended for two years

Ryan Christie, from Lingfoot Place, Jordanthorpe, Sheffield, travelled to Lincoln and unexpectedly turned up at the home of his ex-partner, in October 2018.

During the incident, Christie delivered what the court described as an “almighty kick”, leaving her with a fractured spine. The attack caused significant injury and long-term impact.

In court, Christie was sentenced to 15 months in prison, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete:
• 30 days of rehabilitation activity
• A Building Better Relationships programme
• A five-year restraining order preventing contact with the victim

He did not receive immediate custody but faces imprisonment if he breaches the order or commits further offences within the suspension period.

2️⃣ Sheffield Domestic Incident & Assault on Police

Incident: July 10, 2022
Court: Sheffield Crown Court

Police were called to Christie’s flat on Lingfoot Place following noise complaints and reports of a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived, Christie shut the door on them and refused entry. During the confrontation, he shouted racist abuse from a window and later followed officers while continuing to shout abuse. The court heard this behaviour occurred across multiple occasions.

As a result, Christie was jailed for these offences. (This was a separate case from the Lincoln assault.)

3️⃣ Police Welfare Check Fracas

Court Hearing: November 11 (Sheffield Crown Court)

In another incident, officers attended Christie’s address after receiving reports of a domestic dispute and concerns for the safety of his partner.

He refused officers entry and sparked a confrontation during what was meant to be a welfare check.

This matter formed part of the broader proceedings relating to his conduct toward police and domestic-related incidents.
