A 61-year-old paedophile from Derbyshire has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after being found guilty of repeatedly raping a child over a three-year period.
Paul Dowsing, of Creswell Road in Clowne, was convicted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on January 16 after a five-day trial.
The court heard how Dowsing subjected the victim to prolonged abuse, with the young girl demonstrating ‘immense courage’ in coming forward and enduring the investigation.
Dowsing was also handed a restraining order and a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order alongside his prison sentence.
