A jury has convicted a vile Bristol man of sexual offences against a eight year old girl

Matthew McKenzie, 47, of Totterdown, Bristol appeared at Bristol Crown Court on February 4th where the jury found him guilty of:

– One count of sexual assault of a child

– Two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity

McKenzie was remanded into custody pending a sentencing hearing at the same court on Tuesday, March 17.

During the trial the jury were told that in June 2023 McKenzie stayed overnight with friends at an address in Bristol.

During his visit he molested a girl, then aged eight, rubbed his penis against her, made her touch his penis, and offered to take her to the park if she would perform oral sex on him.

The girl cannot be identified for legal reasons.

The child immediately told her mother. Police were called and McKenzie was arrested.

McKenzie forced the victim to give evidence by repeatedly denying any sexual offences took place. However, the jury saw through his lies and convicted him .
