A Clare’s Law application is advised before having any involvement with this individual as he is a convicted sexual abuser.

He pleaded guilty to 3 counts of sexual assault after a female customer came forward to report him for groping and touching her breasts, vagina & anus during a massage.

During proceedings, Suwali’s counsel stated that he did not seek any sexual gratification from his behaviour and only did it because ‘he thought he should’.

She also stated that Suwali suffered from ‘autism and learning disabilities’

NORWICH MASSEUR SEXUALLY ABUSED WOMAN DRUING SESSION

A masseur who sexually assaulted a naked woman during a two hour session at his home has been warned he faces a jail sentence.

Happy Suwali, 38, a self-employed massage therapist, advertised his services on social media sites, including Instagram, as ‘Happy Massage’.

He was arrested after a woman came forward to say she had been subjected to a prolonged ordeal where she was sexually abused.

Norwich Magistrates Court was told she had been told to get naked apart from a small towel before a massage during which he groped and touched her breasts, vagina and anus.

Simon Jessop, prosecuting, said: “The massage went on for some considerable time. She paid for 45 to 60 minutes but she describes it going on for almost two hours.

“She felt extremely uncomfortable because obviously she was in an enclosed area and didn’t feel able to leave.”

In his online advertising Suwali boasted of providing “ultimate relaxation and wellness” Swedish and deep tissue massages using the tagline “elevate your spirit, nourish your body”

He has previously offered special promotions offering free massages to volunteers at his then home on Bowthorpe Road in Norwich.

The court heard the woman had responded to his adverts seeking a massage to relieve sports injuries on April 30 last year.

Suwali, who now lives on Earlham Road, pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault.

Magistrates committed him to be sentenced at

Norwich Crown Court on June 22 after hearing the starting point of two years imprisonment was too great for their powers.

Mr Jessop said his actions had been a “serious breach of trust” as he was holding himself out as being a qualified masseur.

He added: “If you are setting yourself up online as a business that invites people around to your house where a sexual assault occurs that crosses the line into the more serious category in terms of planning.”

Bethanie Mantin, mitigating, said he was an “extremely vulnerable individual” with autism and learning disabilities.

“Despite pleading guilty he states he had no intention of causing harm whatsoever,” she said.

“He says it was not for sexual gratification. It was something he thought he should. I appreciate this seems like a bizarre statement to make but it should be seen within the context of his mental disorders.

“He does now accept that it was wrong and is deeply remorseful and sorry for his actions.”
