Maidstone Man Found Guilty Of Assault By Beating Ahead Of Sentencing

A man from Maidstone has been found guilty of two counts of assault by beating, following an incident earlier this year.

Graham Foster was convicted in relation to offences that took place on January 15, 2026. The case was heard at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court, with sentencing listed for March 19, 2026.

At the sentencing hearing, the court imposed a 12-month community order. As part of this order, Foster must complete 20 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) days, aimed at addressing the behaviour that led to the offences.

He was also ordered to:
• Pay a £180 fine
• Pay £650 in court costs
• Pay a £114 surcharge
• Pay £200 compensation to the victim

In addition, a restraining order lasting one year was put in place. This prohibits Foster from making any direct or indirect contact with the victim and excludes him from entering South Yorkshire.

The court heard that failure to comply with the order could result in Foster being brought back before the court, where further sentencing could be considered.
