DECLAN JAMIE GANT – SCUNTHORPE

[post_title_first_line]

Concerns have been raised about the behaviour of a man from Scunthorpe, Declan Jamie Gant, following reports from a former partner about a pattern of controlling, abusive and distressing conduct during their relationship.

It is said that after being cared for over the course of a week while recovering from a serious jaw injury, he reacted violently when his partner went out with friends, cutting off her hair in anger.

During the relationship, she was encouraged to move in with him after becoming isolated from her own family. Once living there, she was repeatedly told to leave, despite knowing she had nowhere else to go. She reports being subjected to constant verbal abuse, including being called degrading names, and on one occasion being spat at during an argument.

It’s also said that, when he was 18, he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl, later claiming he believed she was older.

The former partner describes a pattern of emotional manipulation, including repeated threats to take his own life following arguments. Video evidence of these threats has been retained.

Throughout the relationship, he regularly accused her of being unfaithful, while engaging in multiple affairs himself. Since the relationship ended, he is said to have continued spreading false and damaging claims about her.

This account highlights the serious impact that emotional abuse, coercive behaviour and manipulation can have, and the importance of recognising these warning signs early.
