Court documents add that Mccall failed to “provide adequate nutrition for the animal’s needs and failed to investigate and address the cause of the animal’s poor bodily condition and weight loss”.

McCall lives with a man named Lee Dunn – the father of at least one of her children – but he wasn’t prosecuted for reasons unknown.

Sentenced to a  24-month community order; £2,000 towards costs plus £114 victim surcharge. Disqualified from keeping a dog for 15 years but can appeal after 10 years (expires September 2040).
