Rhyl man jailed after breaching suspended sentence for dog neglect

Backyard breeder, drug dealer and woman beater Alan Crawford, North Wales LL18, caused the death of the dog pictured through starvation and neglect.

On an unknown date, Crawford, who goes by the nickname ‘Spud Crawford’, was handed a suspended 26-week prison sentence for causing unnecessary suffering to a dog called Pablo. The charges were that he failed to provide the dog with a suitable diet and failed to protect him from pain, suffering, injury or disease.

The dog did not survive.

Crawford then breached his suspended sentence by committing further crimes.

He pleaded guilty to assault by beating against a woman, believed to be his own mother, and two counts of possession of drugs, namely cocaine and cannabis.

The court activated his original 26-week animal cruelty sentence and added 10 consecutive weeks for the new offences, resulting in a total jail term of 36 weeks.

He has been banned from owning animals, but the duration of the ban is not known.
