A former police employee has been jailed for multiple sexual offences.
David Drury, the former Humberside Police head of communications, was first investigated by the police after they received a report of concerns of inappropriate behaviour.
Drury’s electronic devices were seized and examined, with the police finding multiple indecent images of children.
It became clear soon after that Drury had committed sexual offences.
This offending was aided and abetted by his partner Daniel Sellers.
The pair were arrested in July 2024, with offences found to have been committed against a child victim over a sustained period of time.
David Drury, 40 and of Thoresby Street in Hull, pleaded guilty to the following offences at Hull Crown Court on May 18:
– Six counts of distributing an indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child,
– Two counts sexual assault on a male,
– Sexual assault of a child under 13,
– Voyeurism.
He has now been jailed for nine years, handed a sexual harm prevention order, a seven year restraining order, and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
Daniel Sellers, 44 and of Thoresby Street, Hull, pleaded guilty to the following offences at Hull Crown Court on May 20:
– Two counts of aiding, abetting, counselling, and procuring/aiding and abetting sexual assault on a male,
– Arranging and facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.
He has been jailed for four-and-a-half-years, handed a restraining order for five years, a sexual harm prevention order, and placed on the sex offenders register for life.
