A sex offender who previously escaped being given a jail sentence has appeared back before the court for possession of hundreds of images of child abuse.

Aaron Nobbs, 36, was discovered to have downloaded both still images and videos involving sexual activity against youngsters.

Prosecutor Stephen Munton told Norwich Magistrates’ Court the images and film clips included 194 classified as category A – the most serious which involves penetrative sex, pain, torture or severe humiliation.

He was also found to have downloaded 211 category B and 458 category C images.

The number of images was “significant” and the discovery was aggravated by his previous offending, said Mr Munton.

Nobbs, of Mill Croft Close in New Costessey, but who previously lived in Wymondham, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images.

He also admitted two breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) after police public protection officers found he had set up a secret internet cloud account and wiped the history of an electronic tablet.

The breaches were revealed during an unannounced inspection at his home address in March 2024 carried out as part of the requirements of his SHPO.

His sentencing was committed to Norwich Crown Court on March 23 after magistrates said his case was too serious for their powers.

He was given unconditional bail and a pre-sentence report was ordered to look at all options including immediate imprisonment.

A man has admitted making hundreds of indecent images of children after police cracked access to his mobile phone.

Aaron Nobbs, of Poynt Close in Wymondham, faced three separate offences of making indecent photographs of a child.

Appearing at Norwich Magistrates Court on August 1, he pleaded guilty to all charges which cover the discovery of 786 images and videos.

He was arrested at an address on Queensway in Wymondham in July 2019.

The court heard the delay in bringing charges was because police had been unable to access Nobbs’ phone until earlier this year.

They discovered 338 of the most serious category A indecent photographs of children, together with 265 category B and 183 category C.

Prosecutor Rima Bejum told the court his offending was significantly aggravated by the high number of video clips and the youngest victim being aged just two.

District judge Brown committed the case to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court.

Nobbs was told he must register as a sex offender at Wymondham police station within three days.
