❌TYRONE JARVIS – SOUTH SHEILDS❌
South Shields Man Fined for Contacting Ex Shortly After Stalking Sentence
October 2023 – Newcastle
A South Shields man has been penalised for contacting his former partner just days after receiving a suspended prison sentence for stalking her.
Tyrone Jarvis, 28, of Osbourne Avenue, had been handed a suspended jail term and a restraining order on October 1, 2022, following incidents of stalking between July and August of that year. The victim had also obtained a non-molestation order against him in August 2022.
Despite the court orders, Jarvis attempted to contact the woman on social media within a week. On October 8, he tried to add her on Snapchat, and on October 12, he requested to follow her on Instagram.
Jarvis admitted breaching both the restraining order and the non-molestation order. The court heard he was struggling with alcohol and mental health issues at the time and claimed he did not realise that his social media activity constituted a breach. He has since reported that he has stopped drinking and has kept out of further trouble.
Mr Recorder Richard Stubbs fined Jarvis £400 for breaching the court orders and £100 for violating the conditions of his suspended sentence.
