Norfolk Man Jailed for Assault and Controlling Behaviour

A 23-year-old man from Gorefield has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted of assault and coercive and controlling behaviour in Norfolk.

Tom Jacklin, of Churchill Road, appeared at Norwich Crown Court earlier this week, where he was found guilty of controlling and coercive behaviour, assault by penetration, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The offences occurred during a series of incidents in 2019 and 2020.

Jacklin has also been issued an indefinite restraining order and ordered to pay a £170 victim surcharge.

Investigating officer DC Gemma Garner described Jacklin as “a violent and manipulative offender who subjected his victim to both physical and mental abuse.” She added that it is reassuring he is now in prison, where he is unable to harm anyone else.
