Macclesfield Man Sentenced for Harassment

A 33-year-old man from Macclesfield has been sentenced after admitting a charge of harassment.

Steven Paul Heaven, of Eaton Lane, appeared in court where he pleaded guilty to harassment. Magistrates imposed 150 hours of unpaid work and issued a 12-month restraining order. He was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation to the victim.

The case serves as a reminder that harassment and controlling behaviour can have lasting emotional impacts. Victims are urged to report any form of intimidation or abuse to the police.

Members of the public who are concerned about a partner’s history can apply for information through Clare’s Law, also known as the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme. The scheme allows police to disclose whether someone has a record of abusive behaviour, helping individuals make informed decisions about their safety.
