East Sussex Man Jailed for Sexual Offences Against Teenage Girls

A man from Camber in East Sussex has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for sexually abusing two teenage girls.

Scott Mucklow, 29, of Denham Way, Camber, appeared at Brighton Crown Court on February 14, 2022. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.

Mucklow was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl at his home and later committing three counts of rape against a second victim aged between 16 and 17. One of the offences took place at an address near Lydd, Kent, while the other two occurred at his Camber residence. He was found not guilty of coercive and controlling behaviour against the second victim.

Detective Constable Paul Harrison, of the East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit, said Mucklow was a predatory and manipulative offender who exploited both victims. He added that the victims’ courage in coming forward and giving evidence enabled the authorities to fully investigate and secure a conviction.

“This sentencing demonstrates that we can successfully investigate offenders of this type and provide support to their victims,” said DC Harrison.
