A man has been jailed after he was found in possession of more than 200 indecent images of children, which he also shared with others online.

Ryan Hart, 32, pleaded guilty to making and distributing indecent images of children following a police warrant carried out at his home.

Officers seized three mobile phones during the search in July 2021, acting on intelligence reports from the National Crime Agency. Those reports indicated that Hart had been uploading images to an internet chat room.

Among the images discovered on the devices, 63 were classified as category A, which is the most severe category involving the rape and torture of children.

Hart, of Stow Road, Ixworth, Bury St Edmunds, was a resident of Littleport, Cambridgeshire, when the offences were committed.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of making and distributing indecent images of children and received an 18-month prison sentence at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday.
