Rudi Lockett, 26, of Nelson, Lancashire, was jailed for 18 months following a brutal and premeditated attack on 61-year-old pub licensee Catherine Tattersall. The attack occurred at Winston’s Private Club in Barrowford, where Lockett, on licence from prison and under the influence of drink and drugs, waited until the woman was alone before launching his assault.

He threw a pizza in her face, then punched her repeatedly, leaving her with two black eyes, a swollen nose and forehead, and ongoing headaches. The victim, a respected community member, had known Lockett since childhood. During the attack, he told her: “I’ve nowt to lose, I’m going down anyway.”

The incident was described as premeditated and unprovoked. Lockett has a history of abusive behaviour and poses an ongoing risk to vulnerable people, particularly women.
