A depraved paedophile who preyed on children as young as seven-years-old online was branded “a scumbag” by disgusted parents at a court hearing today.

Ross Jameson pretended to be a girl called ‘Shannon’ when he targeted the young victims by asking them to record themselves carrying out horrific acts and send him the footage.

Jameson, 43, encouraged some victims to masturbate and others to engage in sexual conduct with a dog and post the images to him while in contact with them over the internet.

The vile pervert asked some of the children to send him videos of them urinating in public places and offered to buy them alcohol and nicotine products in exchange for the recordings.
Jameson, from Newington, Edinburgh also sent sickening pornographic material to some of the youngsters during the online contact.

The capital’s sheriff court was told the eight children involved were aged between seven and 13-years-old and the offences all took place between March 15, 2023 and April 22, 2025.

Fiscal depute Eilidh Grant told the court prosecutors were currently preparing a written narration into the details of the offences which will be read out at the next hearing of the case.

Sentence was deferred for the written narration, a criminal justice social work report and a risk assessment all to be prepared next month.
