A 44-year-old Nottinghamshire man has been sentenced to more than eight years for rape.

Robin Ackroyd of Mill Road, Newthorpe, was jailed at Exeter Crown Court after being convicted of two offences of violently raping a woman

Ackroyd was sentenced to eight years and two months and was told to register as a sex offender for life
