Man from Motherwell Sentenced for Violent Assault and Ongoing Abuse

A man from the Motherwell and Wishaw area has been sentenced to over two and a half years in prison following a series of violent assaults against multiple women.

The offender, previously known to authorities for violent behaviour, had already served a lengthy custodial sentence for earlier offences. Upon release, he reportedly used social media to contact and exploit vulnerable women, leading to further incidents of abuse.

According to court reports, one victim was found injured in the street after a brutal attack in which she sustained serious injuries, including damage to her teeth. The man was later arrested and charged after evading police for a period of time.

He appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court, where he admitted to assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement. He has now been sentenced to 32 months’ imprisonment and issued with a restraining order preventing further contact with the victims.

This latest conviction adds to a long record of violence and controlling behaviour. Authorities have described him as a continuing risk to women, particularly those in vulnerable situations.
