Pervert Paul Adewusi has been jailed after having sex with a schoolgirl.

The 40-year-old kissed and sexually touched his victim before manipulating her into full intercourse with her.

His sexual offending came to light years after the abuse and he admitted having sex with the victim which he agreed was wrong.

Now Adewusi has been jailed for eight years at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

Prosecutor James Hudson said the victim reported the abuse to Staffordshire Police in 2024.

Mr Hudson said during the abuse the victim told the defendant, ‘This does not feel right and it should not be happening’.

In his police interview on April 25, 2024 the defendant admitted having sex with the victim.

He said he knew it was wrong and added he was taking cocaine and other drugs at the time.

In an impact statement the victim said she was terrified of telling anyone. She said: “I knew it felt wrong. I felt disgusted.

“I started to question myself and started to think, ‘Could it have been my fault? Could it have been I had done something wrong’?

“I felt a lot of self-hatred. I felt I could not tell people why I was sad. I felt like I would end my life.”

Adewusi, formerly of Bright Street, Meir, pleaded guilty to nine offences of sexual activity with a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

Recorder Julian Taylor said: “The victim very courageously read out her victim statement. Hopefully, you realise what a terrible impact you have had on her life.”

Adewusi must serve two thirds of the sentence with the rest on licence.

He was made the subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
