A “dangerous” paedo found to have lied about his age to groom a 13-year-old girl has been jailed after a court heard he left the teen “worn down” by his sexual advances.

Oliver Vause, 30, of Riddlesden, near Keighley, will spend four years and eight months behind bars and have to register as a sex offender after he was found to have lied about his age to gain the trust of the young girl over the phone.

Vause, who a judge found poses a significant risk of harm to the public, traded multiple messages with the teen, and steered the dialogue into sexual territory while pressuring her to send him a photograph of herself.

He was found to have incited a child into sexual activity and participated in sexual communications with a child, and also of possessing extreme pornography involving bestiality.

Vause, who also breached a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, left the teenager “worn down” by his demands, which were characterised as “deliberate, persistent, manipulative, and sexually motivated”.

Bradford Crown Court heard he sent her pictures of his erect penis and sent messages suggesting they should meet in person.

All the while, the court heard, he was aware the victim was just 13 years old, with Judge Nadim telling Vause jurors “plainly rejected” an account that the conversation was “innocent role-play”.

The judge said: “The jury plainly rejected your account that what occurred was some form of innocent role-play. Nothing about your conduct was innocent.

“It was deliberate, persistent, manipulative, and sexually motivated.” He added that his young victim was “frightened, overwhelmed, and compelled to comply” with his demands.

This, the court heard, demonstrated a pattern of grooming behaviour, with Vause having used the which demonstrated a pattern of grooming behaviour towards her.

He said Vause had used online communications “to entrap and sexualise a child”, and that the extreme pornographic images he had raised “serious concerns about the range and the nature of your sexual deviance and the risk that you pose”.

The judge added: “They demonstrate how far removed you are from anything resembling normal sexual behaviour.”

The court was also told that Vause was “in denial” about his apparent sexual attraction to children

Judge Nadim told Vause he found him dangerous as “you present a significant risk of harm to the public”. On top of his sentence, Vause was made subject to a 15-year sexual Harm Prevention order.
