A woman from Ramsgate, Kent, has been given a suspended sentence after admitting to sexual offences against a 15-year-old boy.

Nicole Lines, 28, formed an illegal sexual relationship with the teenager and also gave him illegal substances. The situation came to the attention of authorities when the boy eventually reported her, saying he felt taken advantage of and emotionally harmed.

Lines pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court to offences including sexual activity with a minor, possession of illegal images, and supplying a controlled substance.

She received a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years, meaning she will only serve time in custody if she breaches the terms of the order or commits new offences. She must also complete 60 days of rehabilitation work and comply with a 10-year notification requirement.

The court heard that the teenager’s mental health deteriorated during the unlawful relationship. Judge Rupert Lowe described the behaviour as serious sexual offending but noted that Lines also had significant personal difficulties, including a troubled upbringing and mental health issues.

Lines appeared visibly upset during the hearing and was supported by a friend.
