Convicted for violently abusing her dog in public.

20-year-old Misha Lee Walker, from Whitehaven, has been convicted after kicking her dog, dragging her along the street, and causing the terrified animal to urinate out of fear.

On 1 July 2025, members of the public saw Walker aggressively kicking and dragging the small dog down the road.
Bystanders told police the dog appeared petrified, urinating as she was being pulled because she was so frightened.

Police intervened and stopped Walker, at which point she was arrested.

Alongside the animal cruelty offence, she was also charged with:
• assaulting an emergency worker
• possession of cannabis

Walker pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

Despite the distress she caused the dog, Walker avoided a prison or banning order.

She received:
• 12-month community order
• 20 rehabilitation days
• £200 contribution to kennel costs

A deprivation order was made, meaning the dog was legally removed from her and can now be safely rehomed.

Her lawyer described Walker as “vulnerable”, stating she is living in supported accommodation and receiving Universal Credit — but none of this excuses the cruelty the dog endured.
