❌MELISSA KENYON – BRIDLINGTON❌
2020 – SCARBO’ PAEDO JAILED AFTER DEFYING CHILD BAN**
A Scarborough sex offender is back behind bars after blatantly ignoring a strict ban stopping her from going anywhere near children.
Melissa Louise Kenyon, 33 – who previously went by the name Melissa Gedge – was hauled before York Crown Court after repeatedly flouting a Sexual Harm Prevention Order she’d been slapped with in 2016.
The court heard the order was crystal clear: no contact with kids under 16 and tell police where you live. But Kenyon ignored both.
MOVES IN WITH PAEDOPHILE – AND LETS CHILD IN
Instead of keeping the police informed, Kenyon quietly moved into a flat with a man who was later convicted of child-sex offences. Officers only discovered the breach when reports began flooding in that a child had been seen in the flat with her — and that the pair had been spotted walking through Scarborough town centre together.
Cops later searched her phone and found photos of the child, all while Kenyon was supposed to be staying miles away from anyone underage.
TOTALLY “DISREGARDED” THE ORDER
Prosecutors told the court that Kenyon showed a “wilful disregard” for the rules meant to protect vulnerable youngsters. One incident even involved the child being partially undressed inside the flat — though no sexual activity was reported.
Kenyon admitted two breaches of the SHPO and failing to notify police of her address.
30 MONTHS BEHIND BARS
The judge had heard enough — blasting her for placing herself in situations she knew were banned. Kenyon was jailed for 30 months, with half to be served inside before she’s released on licence.
Her Sexual Harm Prevention Order stays in force for life.
Police urged anyone worried about people breaching safeguarding orders to report it immediately, saying public tip-offs were crucial in bringing Kenyon back before the courts.
