According to a witness, Watson held a hammer to Caitlin’s head while threatening: “I’m going to smash her head in, you’re going to watch her die and it’ll be your fault.” The witness intervened but was then attacked with the hammer, suffering serious injuries including:
- A shattered jaw — teeth previously repaired were broken again
- Hammer blows to the chest, stomach, and head
- Blood loss and a seizure triggered by the attack
The witness described Watson as “laughing at the blood dripping down my face” as the assault continued, leaving lifelong trauma and flashbacks. The incident reportedly occurred after years of hidden abuse behind closed doors by Watson.
