A man from Burry Port has been sent to Crown Court after appearing before magistrates in Llanelli on Wednesday (September 11), facing several serious charges involving indecent and prohibited images of children.
Luke Staunton, 24, of Pinged, is accused of possessing and creating indecent photographs of children over a period of more than four years.
Between March 7, 2019, and August 8, 2023, Staunton is alleged to have made 28 indecent images of children, including:
• 3 Category A images – the most extreme classification under UK law
• 9 Category B images
• 16 Category C images
He also faces a separate charge of possessing two prohibited images of a child, under sections 62(1) and 66(2) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.
What’s deeply concerning is that, despite the gravity of these allegations, Staunton continues to receive loud and public support from his family. They have shown no shame or apparent concern about his alleged offences. Even more troubling, he reportedly continues to spend time around young family members — often without supervision.
