Accrington Man Convicted of Offences Involving Indecent Images – Sentencing Scheduled for August
Location: Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington
Sentencing: Preston Crown Court – 4th August 2025
Lewis Ainsworth, a resident of Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington, is due to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on 4th August 2025 following his conviction in June 2025 for offences relating to the possession and creation of indecent images of children.
According to official documentation, the offences occurred between December 2021 and April 2022. The case involves the making of 45 Category A images, 86 Category B images and 92 Category C images. A forensic examination linked the material to accounts on Facebook, Telegram, and iCloud, as well as to a mobile phone registered in Ainsworth’s name. Police evidence also suggested that his online activity involved conversations about the exchange of illegal content.
Transcripts from earlier police interviews indicate that Ainsworth made a number of admissions while unrepresented during questioning in April 2022.
In addition to the criminal proceedings, individuals previously in relationships with Ainsworth have come forward describing him as emotionally harmful. One former partner described their six-month relationship as “manipulative and emotionally damaging,” stating they were “used and left broken,” and noting that others had similar experiences, pointing to a recurring pattern of toxic behaviour.
The former partner has shared their story publicly to raise awareness and encourage others in similar situations to speak up.
Ainsworth is currently awaiting sentencing and remains under legal restrictions. The court is expected to deliver its final judgment during the 4th August hearing.
