❌ LAURA FRANCES CACHIA – CARDIFF, WALES ❌
📍 Cardiff Woman Jailed for Stalking, Harassment, and Assault in Prolonged Campaign of Abuse
Cardiff, August 2025 — Laura Frances Cachia, 40, from Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, has been sentenced to 42 weeks in prison and issued a five-year restraining order following a conviction on multiple charges:
- Stalking with intent to cause alarm and distress
- Harassment
- Assault
- Two counts of criminal damage
The case was heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on 17th July 2025, where prosecutors outlined a seven-year period of psychological, emotional, and physical abuse directed at her former partner.
The court was told how Cachia’s actions included:
- Repeated and unwanted messages, phone calls, and visits
- Threats of violence and emotional manipulation
- Physical assaults and intimidation
- Damage to the victim’s property during heated confrontations
The victim reported feeling “trapped, humiliated and mentally worn down” by years of escalating behaviour that included stalking, threats, and emotional control. One particularly traumatic incident involved Laura slashing tyres outside the victim’s home while shouting abuse, which left neighbours frightened and prompted a police response.
The judge said the abuse showed a clear pattern of coercive and controlling behaviour. Despite numerous warnings and previous interventions, Cachia continued to harass and harm the victim.
In addition to the prison sentence, she was ordered to pay £100 compensation.
⚠️ Clare’s Law
Clare’s Law — the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme — allows individuals to ask police if their partner has a history of violence. The victim in this case has publicly urged authorities to apply this disclosure mechanism in Laura’s case to protect others from future harm.
