A Buntingford man described as a “dangerous predator” has been jailed for 16 years for a string of sex crimes against young girls, including two rapes, dating back almost a quarter of a century.

Kieran Logan, 48, of Rushden Road, was brought to justice after one of his victims spoke up and he was arrested in May 2024.

After his devices were seized, Hertfordshire police discovered two further victims and thousands of indecent images of children, so he was further arrested and remanded in custody in August this year.

His offending went back as far as 2003.

Logan was sentenced on Thursday (November 27) at St Albans Crown Court after pleading guilty at a hearing in September.

He admitted two counts of rape of a child, four counts of sexual assault by penetration, one count of sexual assault of a child, one of sexual activity with a child and three counts of making indecent images of children (categories A, B and C).

Logan was given a 16-year custodial sentence with an extended licence period of six years.

He is subject to a sexual harm prevention order and will be on the sex offenders register for life. Restraining orders are in place to protect his victims.
