King’s Lynn Man Sentenced for Sexual Offences Against a Child

A 32-year-old man from King’s Lynn has been sentenced to 10 years in prison with a one-year extended licence following guilty pleas to sexually assaulting a young child.

Karl West, of Bishops Road, appeared before Judge Stephen Warner at St Albans Crown Court, where he admitted to the sexual abuse of a two-year-old girl. He had previously denied the charges during an earlier hearing on June 1 before Judge Michael Kay.

West also pleaded guilty to taking and producing indecent images and videos of a child, including six photographs and one video, as well as creating 44 indecent images and 19 videos. All offences took place in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

A separate charge concerning possession of extreme pornographic material involving humans and live animals was ordered to remain on file.

In addition to his custodial sentence, West was given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and is required to register as a sex offender for life.

West is scheduled for release in November 2025 to the Suffolk, Norfolk, or Norwich area, with connections to King’s Lynn. He will remain on the indefinite sex offenders register and under the sexual harm prevention order, with four years remaining on his licence.
