Man Jailed for Assault, Strangulation, and Stalking Following Police Investigation

A man has been sentenced to prison after admitting to a series of violent and controlling offences against a woman in Cumbria.

Kameron Bradley Wooldridge appeared at Carlisle Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to three serious charges — assault by beating, strangulation, and stalking involving fear, alarm, or distress.

Following his guilty plea, Wooldridge was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment. In addition to the custodial sentence, the court also imposed a Restraining Order designed to protect the victim. The order strictly prohibits him from contacting her directly or indirectly, and from visiting her home address in Wigton, Cumbria. The order will remain in place until 30th September 2028.

The conviction follows a thorough police investigation by Cumbria Constabulary, which brought the offender to justice and ensured safeguarding measures for the victim.

Authorities commended the victim for her courage in coming forward and cooperating with the investigation, noting that her support was crucial to securing the conviction.
