REPEAT OFFENDER JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE – THREE-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE
2018 – Swindon Crown Court
Jamie Wolleter, with a long history of domestic abuse, was sentenced to three years in prison for a string of violent assaults against his then-partner — many of which took place in front of her young children.
Key Facts:
- Repeatedly assaulted his partner in front of her children (ages 4, 3, and 18 months)
- Burned her by pushing her backwards over a lit hob
- Stabbed her with a machete, causing visible injuries
- Punched her in the face, throttled her multiple times
- Made threats with a weapon saying he would “slice her up”
- Also attacked her brother-in-law during a drunken outburst
- History of domestic violence and other offences
Court Outcome:
- Pleaded guilty to three counts of actual bodily harm and four of common assault
- Jailed for 3 years at Swindon Crown Court
- Judge branded him a “wife beater” during sentencing
- Imposed a 7-year restraining order to protect the victim
Additional Information:
The court heard that alcohol and a troubled upbringing contributed to Wolleter’s behaviour, though the judge made clear the brutality of his actions warranted a significant custodial sentence. Despite apologies after many of the attacks, the abuse continued and escalated.
This is a repeat domestic offender with a dangerous pattern of abuse. Awareness is essential to ensure others are protected.
