❌JAMIE ROSS – LEEDS❌
Jailed for killing a pet dog
Jamie Ross, 34, has been repeatedly jailed over a series of violent and disturbing offences in Leeds and Bradford, including the brutal killing of a woman’s pet chihuahua.
Court reports from 2023 outline a persistent pattern of harassment, aggression and dangerous behaviour that judges described as posing a serious risk to the public — particularly to future partners.
Chihuahua Killing – 2023 Case (20-month sentence)
In April 2023, Ross was jailed for 20 months after a horrific incident in which he killed a woman’s pet chihuahua while drunk, then disposed of the dog’s body in a garden bin.
The victim returned to her Leeds home to find the property “in a state”, blood throughout the house, and Ross heavily intoxicated. He admitted stealing £250 of her money to buy drugs. When questioned about her missing dog, he told her:
“I think I stamped on it.”
He then threatened to kill her, warning:
“I’ll do it quicker than I did the dog.”
Judge Recorder Mark McKone KC told Ross the act was “sordid” and offered no excuse whatsoever. He highlighted the trauma caused to the woman and her children, who no longer felt safe in their own home.
Clare’s Law (Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme)
Under Clare’s Law, individuals may request information from police if they believe someone has a history of violence, stalking, or abuse.
Ross’s history — including repeated stalking, harassment, violent assault, and animal cruelty — would fall within the type of behaviour the scheme aims to safeguard against.
