2025 – Worcester man imprisoned for rape and sexual assault of a man
A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to a total of six years in prison after being found guilty of rape and sexual assault.
Jamie King, of Fortuna Way, Kempsey near Worcester, was convicted by a unanimous jury of raping and sexually assaulting a man aged 16 or over. The offences took place in March 2020, with the verdict returned in July 2024.
Following delays due to outstanding reports, King was sentenced at Redditch Crown Court on February 21.
He received a six-year custodial sentence for rape and a two-year sentence for sexual assault, to run concurrently.
In addition, the court imposed a 15-year restraining order preventing contact with the victim. King will also remain on the sex offenders register for life.
The court heard that King had previous convictions. He had earlier admitted criminal damage relating to a separate matter but received no additional penalty at this sentencing hearing.
It was also noted that in 2023 he was given a suspended prison sentence after admitting theft from his former workplace, where he had taken more than £3,000 over a two-month period.
