📍 Location: Northwich, Cheshire

⚠️ Offences:

  • Breach of Domestic Violence Prevention Order (DVPO)
  • Repeated contact with victim

🗓️ Date: July 2024

📝 Summary:

Jacob Snelson, of Pear Tree Drive, Northwich, was sentenced to four weeks in prison at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 17 July 2024 after he was found guilty of breaching a Domestic Violence Prevention Order (DVPO).

The order, which was issued on 12 July at Chester Magistrates’ Court, barred Snelson from contacting his former partner or coming within 100 metres of her address. Despite this, just days later, Snelson had breached the order several times.

During a routine police check on 16 July, officers discovered that Snelson was using a location-tracking app to monitor the movements of the victim. The app also revealed that he had labelled the victim’s home as “home” on the app and had visited the location on six separate occasions.

The visits occurred within days of the DVPO being issued, showing a clear disregard for the conditions of the order.

Police Constable David Howells from the Public Protection Unit said: “Snelson’s reoffending began almost immediately following the issuing of the order, which was put in place to protect a vulnerable person who had been the subject of domestic abuse. His custodial sentence should reassure victims that we take breaches very seriously.”

🚨 Warning:

Jacob Snelson has shown a pattern of obsessive and manipulative behaviour. His use of technology to track his victim highlights his ongoing risk. He poses a serious concern for any future partners and should be treated with caution.
