❌JAC WILDE – WIGAN❌
Young Father Sentenced to Over Eight Years for Rape and Assault in Atherton Home
September 9, 2016
A 22-year-old father of two has been handed a sentence of eight years and three months in prison after being convicted of sexual assault and physical violence against a couple in their Atherton residence. Jac Wilde, who initially maintained his innocence, was found guilty following two separate trials at Liverpool Crown Court.
During sentencing, Judge Robert Trevor-Jones remarked on Wilde’s blatant contempt for his victims, noting that he appeared to see himself as superior to them. The judge highlighted Wilde’s arrogance in court, stating that the assault was driven as much by a desire to assert dominance over the woman as by sexual gratification.
The attack took place on September 15 at the couple’s home. Evidence presented in court indicated that Wilde had provided vodka, and all parties had been drinking heavily that evening. After the male victim went to bed intoxicated, Wilde sexually assaulted the female victim in the kitchen. While the jury acquitted him of this particular charge, the judge noted it played a role in setting the context for the ensuing violence.
Following the incident, Wilde turned his aggression toward the female victim’s partner, physically attacking him in the bedroom and leaving him with a black eye and multiple cuts. He then forcibly removed the woman from the house and returned her inside, where he coerced her into performing oral sex. Wilde subsequently barricaded himself in a room with the woman, prompting the male victim to flee for safety. During this period, Wilde struck the woman on the head with a pan and forced her to perform oral sex again.
In addition to his conviction for rape, Wilde was found guilty of two counts of assault. The Wigan resident, who had prior criminal convictions, was ordered to register as a sex offender for life. He was also prohibited from contacting the female victim under a five-year restraining order.
Speaking after sentencing, Wilde’s defense attorney, Sara Haque, said that her client now regrets his actions and acknowledged that they reflected the choices he made at the time.
