Sheriff Imposes Community Payback Order and Non-Harassment Order in Local Case
Scotland, January 17, 2025 – The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has confirmed that Darren Farquharson has been sentenced following a hearing on January 8, 2025.
The Sheriff imposed a Community Payback Order, requiring Farquharson to complete 198 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. In addition, he will be subject to a two-year supervision period, as part of measures aimed at helping offenders make reparations to society and change offending behaviours.
The Sheriff also granted a Non-Harassment Order (NHO) against Farquharson. This order prevents him from engaging in behaviour that could cause alarm or distress to the victim, even if such behaviour may not otherwise be unlawful. If breached, Farquharson could face arrest and further court proceedings.
