Man Pleads Guilty to Assault in Lincoln – Justice System Criticised for Mishandling Case

Dale Rusynuik, a man with a known history of violence, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on 1st May 2025, where he pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The incident occurred on 16th November 2024.

The court issued him a £167 fine and ordered him to pay £250 in compensation to the victim. Despite the guilty plea and nature of the assault, significant concerns are being raised over how the case was handled by authorities.

⚠️ Serious Failings in the Investigation

  • Key CCTV evidence was reportedly lost by Lincolnshire Police
  • Delayed investigation: Took 5 months to open, but was closed within 3 weeks
  • Three key witnesses came forward, yet their statements were seemingly disregarded

These failures have led to growing criticism about the system’s ability to protect victims and hold repeat offenders accountable.

🚨 Repeat Offender

At the time of the assault, Rusynuik had already been arrested just 4 weeks earlier for a separate violent offence. Despite this, he was released without charge, only to offend again.

This raises serious questions about risk assessments and police response when dealing with known violent individuals.
