⚠️ Incident Summary

In June 2021, Craig Pilkington brutally assaulted his then-partner Rebecca Mavin, a mother of two. The attack included throwing her to the ground, pinning her down, biting her face, and covering her mouth and neck in an attempt to silence her. Rebecca feared for her life until a neighbour intervened, helping her escape and call police.

Despite the severity of the attack — including visible injuries to her face, lips, and neck — Pilkington received only a suspended sentence. Rebecca bravely released shocking photos and spoke publicly about the ordeal, highlighting the failures of the justice system and urging other women to speak out.

🗣️ Survivor’s Voice

“I’ve never been so scared in my life. I thought, ‘This is it – he’s going to kill me.’ This vile, unprovoked attack could have taken me away from my children.” – Rebecca

“This man bit my nose, pinned me down, and choked me to the point I couldn’t breathe. The justice system failed me – and so many others. He should have been locked up.”

📣 Public Awareness

Rebecca and her family shared this story and images to raise awareness of domestic abuse and push for change. This case highlights the need for stronger sentencing for violent abusers and the importance of listening to survivors.
