Coral Piir (male) aka Carol Piir, 25, from Christchurch, Dorset – inflicted multiple and repetitive injuries on a tiny Chihuahua cross.

Piir, who came to the UK from Estonia, admitted causing unnecessary suffering to the dog called Poppy on Carysfort Road in Bournemouth. The attacks took place between July 10, 2023 and August 9, 2023,

His charge details that he failed to exercise reasonable care and supervision of the dog’s protection from harm which led to repetitive and multiple injuries.

Piir also admitted to failing to provide timely or adequate professional veterinary care and attention for multiple injuries to the dog.

Poppy’s condition was not reported and it’s not yet known if she survived.

26-week custodial sentence suspended for 12 months; 12 mental health treatment sessions, 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement and 150 hours of unpaid work; ordered to pay £3429.82 in costs. Disqualified from owning any animal for 10 years.
