2025 – Man Given Suspended Sentence After Indecent Images of Children Found on Mobile Phones
Connor Temple has been sentenced after police uncovered a large number of indecent images and videos of children on his mobile phones during an investigation into online activity.
Officers attended the his home after receiving intelligence linked to internet searches and downloads. During a search of the property, two mobile phones were seized and examined. Both devices were found to contain a significant volume of illegal material involving children.
The court heard that the material included images and videos across the most serious classification categories. Some of the content involved very young children, aged as young as three and four, with the court told the children depicted were clearly experiencing pain and distress.
Judges were informed that the man had been actively searching for this type of material online, using specific search terms rather than accessing it accidentally. The court was told this behaviour contributed to the wider exploitation and abuse of children by sustaining demand for such content.
In total, dozens of Category A images and videos were discovered, along with further material in Categories B and C. Investigators also found extreme pornographic content on the devices.
The defendant initially denied sharing the images but later accepted responsibility and entered guilty pleas to multiple offences relating to the making of indecent images of children, as well as possession of extreme pornography.
Sentencing, the judge highlighted the serious harm caused by such offences, noting that every image represented a real child who had been abused. The court stressed that consuming this material directly fuels further exploitation.
The man was handed a suspended prison sentence, ordered to complete unpaid work and rehabilitation activity, and placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He was also required to sign the sex offenders register for a decade and ordered to pay court costs.
