📝 Case Summary:
Christopher Brooks, 34, formerly of Church Street, Ribchester, was jailed for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl after plying her with vodka. The assault occurred on February 22, 2020.
Despite DNA evidence found inside the victim’s bra, Brooks denied the assault and took the case to trial at Preston Crown Court, where he was found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child.
During the sentencing on September 13, 2023, Judge Darren Preston criticised Brooks for making offensive and false claims to avoid responsibility. He stated: “Your DNA was found on the inside of the victim’s bra… you came up with offensive theories to explain it — anything to avoid the truth.”
The victim bravely read her statement in court, describing the lasting trauma: “My whole life has been affected massively… I couldn’t concentrate at school which impacted my GCSEs.”
Brooks was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Brooks has since moved to the Blackpool / Thornton area and is not allowed to return to Ribchester or Preston. He is known to lie about his background and has been heard bragging about his criminal friends and how many women he “picks up.”
