Incident Summary:
In October 2022, Mr. Mayhew-Sanders was reportedly arrested and cautioned by Northumbria Police following a report and submission of video evidence. The footage in question allegedly depicted him engaging in physical chastisement of his son within the child’s bedroom.

According to information provided to me, the incident was categorized by police as “child chastisement.” I understand that Mr. Mayhew-Sanders expressed remorse during his interview, after which a formal caution was issued.

Concerns Regarding Safeguarding:
I have concerns about the welfare and safety of the child involved, given that social services have reportedly deemed Mr. Mayhew-Sanders a safe adult and continue to support contact or residence arrangements in his care, despite his prior caution.

Additionally, I wish to note that I have been informed Mr. Mayhew-Sanders is currently under investigation for alleged offences involving sexual assault and domestic abuse.
