A woman from Bishop Auckland has pleaded guilty to repeatedly contacting her former partner and his mother via phone calls and Facebook messages. Proudfoot, admitted to multiple offences, including harassment (without violence), stalking, resisting arrest, assaulting an emergency worker, and damaging property.

In her appearance at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court, she became visibly emotional and was cautioned that she would be placed in a holding cell if she did not calm down. The judge, District Judge Stephen Hood, advised her to cooperate with probation, explaining what was happening in her life at the time of her offences and what has changed since.

According to the prosecutor, at the time of her arrest, Proudfoot spat at a police officer.
