Charlie Holmes – Hull

An obsessed woman took advantage of a vulnerable teenage girl and sexually touched her – leaving the victim suffering “massive” problems and “constantly on edge”.

Charlie Holmes repeatedly pestered the girl and kissed her and she later gave her joints of cannabis to smoke.

The teenager was left feeling “really uncomfortable” and the unwanted sexual attention was “quite disgusting”, Hull Crown Court heard.

Holmes, 31, of Melrose Street, off Anlaby Road, west Hull, admitted three offences of sexual activity with a child and another of supplying cannabis to the child.

Jazmine Lee, prosecuting, said that Holmes told the girl that she had feelings for her and she begged the teenager: “You have got to do this.” Holmes forcibly kissed her on the lips.

The girl was able to run away but Holmes followed her. She told the girl that they had to do it – meaning have a relationship.

Holmes took the girl to Hessle foreshore and gave her two cannabis joints to smoke on each occasion. Holmes kissed and held her hand while they were there.

She pulled the girl close and gave her a love bite on her neck, which the girl said was “quite disgusting”.

Holmes told her that there was nobody else that she wanted to be with at all.

Holmes took the girl to a park in Hull, and kissed her forcibly against a wall.

She touched the girl intimately, causing the teenager to “freeze” and “feel really uncomfortable”. The girl pushed Holmes’ arm away.

The girl spoke to another person and the matter was later reported to the police.

Holmes was arrested and she was given bail conditions but that did not deter her from continuing to send messages.

The girl later said that she struggled with sleep, especially nightmares, and she had suffered depression and anxiety. “This has all had a massive impact on my life,” she said.

“I have struggled with romantic relationships. I was petrified of her. I was a child at this time. I can see how wrong what she did was. I am constantly on edge.”

Judge Tahir Khan KC told Holmes: “Immediate custody of some length is inevitable.” Holmes, who had been on bail, was jailed for three years.

She was given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and an indefinite restraining order.

She must register as a sex offender indefinitely.
