A County Durham teenager has been found guilty of outraging public decency by carrying out a sex act on himself involving a rocking horse and a branch from a tree in a public childrens play area.
Callum Green, now 19, appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court for trial today (October 15) after pleading not guilty to the common law charge of outraging public decency
Green carried out the act in Burn Valley Gardens in Hartlepool on the morning of October 19, 2024.
The court heard he ‘behaved in an indecent manner’ in carrying out the sexual act, which involved a rocking horse and a branch from a nearby tree which had been inserted into himself.
The teenager was found guilty at the trial and will be sentenced next month.
He will also be sentenced for one count of criminal damage to property valued under £5,000, which he previously pleaded guilty to.
The charge read: “On or in 18 Oct 2024 at Hartlepool without lawful excuse, you damaged children’s playground to the value of unknown belonging to Hartlepool Council intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged.”
