❌BEN EYRE – STRANRAER, SCOTLAND❌
Assault Case Deferred for Sentencing at Stranraer Sheriff Court
The Crown Office has confirmed that Benjamin Stephen Eyre has pleaded guilty to a charge of assault. The case, heard at Stranraer Sheriff Court, has been deferred until 17 December 2025, when a sheriff will decide on sentencing.
Eyre has been released on bail under strict conditions, including a ban on contacting or attempting to approach the victim. Police have advised that any breach of these terms should be reported immediately.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman, has provided a detailed account of her experience. She described being assaulted in public, with her attacker wrapping his arms around her neck, forcing her to the ground, spitting in her face, and pushing her down a flight of steps. The incident was reportedly captured on police CCTV.
She also reported a pattern of harassment and intimidation over a two-year period. On two occasions, she says she jumped from a window—once sustaining a serious foot injury—after he allegedly urged her to end her life. She stated that the ongoing harassment left her feeling unsafe in her own home and ultimately forced her to move.
In her statement, the victim described the lasting impact on her mental health, saying she had been left feeling “nervous, vulnerable, and constantly under pressure.”
Sentencing will take place in December, when the court will determine the appropriate penalty for Eyre’s guilty plea.
